Forum of Famous Faces

The Forum of Famous Faces was an awesome event for the Navigators, Explorers and 6th graders. All of the school as well as many parents attended and visited with historic figures from the Revolution and Civil War eras of American history.

Making Pavers

Latex gloves, masks to avoid the cement powder, all in a days work for the Navigators as they make yet another set of pavers for the backyard garden. The Navigators made five sets of pavers then were responsible for placing them in the garden!

Learning About Our Hearts

The Navigators had a special visitor, one of our parents and a physician, Deb Rodriguez. Dr. Rodriguez lead the Navigators in dissecting a lamb's heart to understand the vital role the heart plays in the human body. We saw the atriums, ventricles, and found the valves that keep the blood flowing the right direction. It was an awesome experience and the Navigators thank Dr. Rodriguez for showing us all about the heart.

Gardening

The Navigators got down and dirty and worked on the backyard garden. They set stones for the bench area and began laying out the pavers. It was hot and dirty work but everyone put in a great effort!

A Really Good Friday

The Navigators had a great day spending time with their Superstar buddies. First they got to be Junior Easter Bunnies and hide the eggs for the Superstars Easter egg hunt. In the afternoon they tutored the Superstars in using the computers for a typing program.

The Navigators were patient role models and look forward to spending more time with their little buddies.

Rushton Howard!!

Starting April 9 through the end of month author Rushton Howard will be spending time with the Navigators and teaching them about writing. We're really excited about having a published writer as our Artist in Residence.

Naviagators Perform!

The Navigators are singing fools and after learning a John Denver classic, "Grandma's Featherbed" they performed it for Gathering. It was only fitting that they wear the a correct attire so it was also Pajama Day!
